ViewPointNigeria.com – Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) is currently working on a trial match against Nigeria. This idea came from Le Khank Hai (VFF General) upon meeting with the Nigerian Ambassador to Vietnam, Francis Efeduma.
The news was greeted happily by the people of Vietnam as they don’t want to see Park Hang-seo troops struggle in the 2018 World Cup.
VFF Secretary-General (Secretary General), Le Hoai Anh, also confirmed that the planned trial match against Nigeria would occur. This match will also help strengthen the international relations between the two countries as it will bring the Under-23 teams together.
The match will be held in September. For VFF, the match will be utilized by the Vietnam U-23 national team to strengthen the team before facing the 2019 SEA Games.
“In September, Vietnam will have a friendly match, Nigeria does not lie in the plan,” Le Hoai Anh said, quoted from Bongda.vn.
“At the invitation of the Nigerian Ambassador, in order to strengthen the friendship between the two countries, we will compete between the U-23 teams from both countries,” he continued.
“Vietnam U-23 is still in the process of preparing for the SEA Games and Nigeria U-23 will be a strong competitor. So we can see the strength and limitations to make it on time,” concluded Le Hoai Anh.
The 2019 SEA Games itself will roll out from November 30 to December 11, 2019. In the 2018 Sea Games, Vietnam failed to qualify from the group phase after failing to compete with Indonesia and Thailand.
